Days with PPT ≥ 50 mm (R50)
Days with PPT ≥ 50 mm (R50): annual count of days when daily precipitation is equal or greater than 50 mm (PPT ≥ 50 mm). The unit of measurement is days.
The evolution of R50 anomaly (AR50, difference between the annual value of R50 and the mean value of R50 in the reference period 1981-2010) during the period 1959-2020 is shown for the Pyrenees and for 4 areas of the Massif (Northern Pyrenees, Southern Pyrenees, Mediterranean Pyrenees and Atlantic Pyrenees); for each of the 26 series analyzed, the evolution of R50 index is shown.
The annual mean of R50 for the Pyrenees is obtained from the annual R50 values of 26 representative series of the Pyrenees massif (areas at different altitudes and on all slopes: north, south, east or Mediterranean and west or Atlantic), while the mean value of R50 for the 4 zones of the Massif is obtained from the annual R50 values of the representative series located in each zone.
